Crypto Platforms Are Chasing Stock Traders as 2027 Approaches

A Cardano stablecoin offering nearly 50% APR faces a $1M deposit bet on Bodega Market, but the yield-bearing token absorbs losses first.
Bodega Market has opened betting on whether RealFi’s Cardano stablecoin reaches $1 million in deposits on Strike Finance. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson proposed the wager while Strike’s market offers a yield near 50%.
Yet the token that earns that high yield absorbs portfolio losses before ordinary holders do.
RealFi issues USDrf, a dollar-pegged token backed by off-chain real-world assets. The team says direct lending to businesses forms the core of the portfolio, alongside Treasury bills and floating-rate bonds.
Cardano stablecoin holders can stake USDrf for sUSDrf, whose value moves with the portfolio. According to RealFi’s GitHub code submission, protocol reserves take losses first, followed by sUSDrf holders.
Strike Finance, a Cardano perpetual futures exchange, lets users borrow against deposited assets. It now accepts sUSDrf as collateral. Its dashboard shows a 49.31% APR, with roughly $119,200 in loans backed by the token.
For comparison, three-month US Treasury bills yielded about 4.3% on October 15, according to Federal Reserve data. Strike also allows a maximum loan-to-value (LTV) ratio of 100%, so users can borrow the full value of their collateral.
Yet RealFi’s website does not explain how the yield behind that rate is generated.
On October 17, Strike said its vault held close to $100,000 of the Cardano stablecoin. Within an hour, it reported another $50,000 in deposits.

Meanwhile, the exchange’s own token, Strike (STRIKE), trades roughly 77% below its August 2025 record high.
Hoskinson then asked who would list a market on the vault hitting $1 million. He tagged Bodega, which bills itself as Cardano’s prediction market. Later, Bodega confirmed the market was live.

Still, ownership remains concentrated. On October 8, a single holder controlled about 66% of RealFi’s staking vault, the GitHub filing shows. That vault held roughly 2.58 million USDrf. A $1 million mark on Strike would therefore place a large share of that supply on one outside app.
Beyond one vault, Cardano is courting regulated finance, from a new token compliance standard to partnerships in Brazil. Consequently, the $1 million bet tests whether Cardano stablecoin deposits keep growing at current yields. It also shows whether they spread beyond a few large holders.
