XRP supply on Binance looks more abundant after the scarcity gauge fell to -0.94, its lowest since January 2025. Analysts say selling is not confirmed.
The XRP Binance Scarcity Index has fallen to -0.94, the weakest reading since January 2025, indicating that a larger number of tokens can now be traded on the exchange.
That represents a sharp turnaround from July, when the indicator reached a level not seen in two years.
The XRP Binance Scarcity Index essentially shows how scarce XRP is on Binance relative to its usual or historical reading.
Based on CryptoQuant data, the index stood at 0.77 in July, its highest point in around two years. It has since slid to -0.94, the lowest level since January 2025. That is a substantial move over only a few months.
Binance's overall XRP reserves have in fact decreased by about 20% since November 2024. Yet the coins that remain appear to be more readily available for trading instead of sitting unused in cold storage.
Analysts view the development as a change in how the existing supply is functioning, not necessarily a change in total holdings. Comparable swings have occurred before without leading to lasting moves in price.
Greater availability of XRP on Binance does not automatically mean holders are selling. CryptoQuant analysts point out that more liquidity on the exchange raises the chance of selling pressure ahead. The figures alone do not establish that tokens are changing hands in practice.
At present, XRP trades near $1.55; BeInCrypto data puts the 24-hour gain at 3.4%. Over the last month, XRP has gained roughly 10%, extending a wider recovery. It also remains more than 46% higher than a year ago.
Prediction markets have become more wary about XRP reaching a new all-time high this year. The chance of a record by December 31 now stands at just 6%, pointing to weaker demand tied to scarcity. That percentage has fallen in the past few weeks as supply indicators turned.
Traders are likely to monitor reserve and exchange-flow data closely for evidence that distribution is actually taking place.
An increase in exchange supply can occur before selling, but it can also be a sign of routine market-maker activity. Crypto markets are still volatile, and current gauges do not guarantee where the price goes next.
