Bitcoin pulls back as 10-year yield climbs 16.8 bps to 5.135%, with key support still holding.
Since touching a low around $75,000 on September 16, bitcoin has enjoyed a solid advance. It moved beyond the $81,517–$82,833 swing zone, then broke through the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement of the slide from the October 2025 peak near $126,272 — a level that sits at $83,916. Buying pressure took the cryptocurrency to roughly $87,300 both yesterday and again in today's session.
The bulls now face a challenge. The 10-year Treasury yield has climbed 16.8 basis points to 5.135%, and the Nasdaq has slipped 1.28%. This change in market mood has accompanied a retreat in bitcoin. A portion of the week's advance is being surrendered, yet the decline has not been steep enough to return dominance to the bears.
What could shift the outlook?
The initial marker to monitor is $83,916. A drop back under that retracement threshold — one bitcoin cleared during its ascent — would signal that the most recent buying surge has lost steam. A more significant hurdle, though, is the $81,517–$82,833 swing zone.
Why is that region significant? It served as resistance ahead of the breakout. Following a breakout, market participants frequently watch to see if prior resistance will function as support. Should bitcoin ease toward that zone and buyers emerge, it would demonstrate their continued willingness to safeguard the upward move.
Provided that the price holds above $81,517–$82,833, buyers remain active, even if the uptrend stalls or experiences a deeper correction. A fall back beneath that zone would paint another picture. Those who entered on the breakout might begin to doubt it, and frustrated buyers could intensify the selling.
At present, the advance is under pressure, but the crucial support has yet to break.
