Altcoins Quack AI, Akedo, and Monero Reach Decisive Levels in Third Week of October 2026
Quack AI (Q) is overbought after a 298% surge, Akedo (AKE) faces a $63 million token unlock, and Monero (XMR) tests $600 resistance for a third time.
Bitcoin is trading below a key moving average after repeated rejections, with swing support near $80,106–$81,183 in focus as traders gauge the next move.
US equities are trading lower, while Treasury yields and oil prices have moved higher. Bitcoin is feeling the weight of that risk-off backdrop. Still, the technical levels give traders answers to the more practical questions: Who is in control? Where is the danger? What has to happen next?
A moving average hands traders a decision point.
Bitcoin dropped below its 100-bar moving average on the four-hour chart on October 7. After finding support near $80,106 on October 8, the price rebounded, only to stall against that average on October 12 and again today.
Why is that significant?
A moving average can hold as support when price trades above it and become resistance when price is below it. In this situation, the recent rebounds gave buyers opportunities to take back both the 200- and 100-bar moving averages on the four-hour chart. The 200-bar moving average was broken, but sellers leaned on the 100-bar moving average. Buyers could not climb above the higher average and remain there, and sellers used the level to push price back down.
The buyers had their chance and let it slip.
For sellers, the moving average is a reference point for defining risk. As long as price remains beneath it, the bearish bias is intact. Once price gets above it and holds there, the argument for selling near that resistance starts to erode.
The moving average does not promise what happens next. It simply provides a level against which traders can measure price action.
Support is a zone rather than a single price.
Bitcoin has touched a low of $81,570 in today's session, pulling it closer to the swing support area between $80,106 and $81,183.
A swing area is a region where the price has attracted buying or selling interest in the past. Traders track it because those earlier reactions signal a place where another battle could develop.
Two levels are worth watching:
Below $81,183, the price is inside the support area. Sellers gain ground, but the broader range is still intact.
Below $80,106, the floor of the range that has contained Bitcoin since September 19 gives way. A sustained move under that level would boost the bearish case and open the door to additional selling.
That difference matters. Moving into support is not the same as moving through support.
A break needs follow-through.
If Bitcoin falls below $80,106, the focus will be on whether it can hold beneath that level and extend the drop. A rebound that stalls under the broken floor would be more evidence that support has become resistance.
If the price instead breaks lower and quickly returns to the range, sellers may have had their chance and missed it. That would weaken the breakdown signal.
Should buyers defend the support zone once more, the broader $80,106 to $87,374 range remains in play. The four-hour chart's 100- and 200-bar moving averages would keep serving as intermediate decision points.
Let the levels steer the trade.
The lesson is to keep the current bias separate from the confirmation that comes next. Repeated rejections at the 100-bar moving average are a plus for sellers. A sustained break below the range floor would hand them another win. Until then, buyers at support can still keep the battle inside the range.
