Block, Jack Dorsey's company, is pressing ahead with efforts to turn bitcoin into a daily payment method.

On Thursday, the NYSE-listed firm revealed it had launched a marketing campaign encouraging consumers to transact with the top digital asset.

This arrives as Americans face a cost-of-living crisis, with inflation dominating voter concerns ahead of the midterm elections. Dorsey and his company have long advocated using bitcoin for purchases.

Bitcoin does.

“At Block, we’re focused on building financial products that make everyday life easier,” Miles Suter, Bitcoin Lead at Block, said in a statement.

Suter also stated: “This campaign is our first major illustration of what a Bitcoin-centric financial system could look like, and we’re excited to show how it can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”

The campaign includes an advertisement posted on X. The ad shows ordinary Americans expressing frustration over living costs and issues like government bailouts for Wall Street.

Its tagline was “Some things don’t make sense. Bitcoin does.”

According to Block's announcement, the ad campaign begins Thursday on YouTube, X, Meta, Instagram, and Fox Sports television, running through December 31. It will also appear in theaters before screenings of Avengers: Doomsday and Dune 3.

Dorsey stepped down from Twitter in 2021 to concentrate on payments and promoting bitcoin, stating his goal is for the cryptocurrency to become a global currency.

He has called Satoshi Nakamoto's bitcoin whitepaper “poetry.”

Cash App supports sending, receiving, buying, and selling bitcoin, as well as point-of-sale terminals. Square merchants can accept bitcoin through the Lightning Network.

Last year, Block introduced a bitcoin mining machine with modular components, intended to reduce miners' repair and replacement expenses.
