Blur token hit an all-time low of $0.01267 following the announcement that its NFT marketplace website will close on November 12, 2026.
On October 13, the Blur (BLUR) token dropped to an all-time low of $0.01267. The decline followed the NFT marketplace's announcement that its website would close on November 12, 2026.
At the time of writing, the token was trading at $0.01347, a 28.43% decline over the previous 24 hours per BeInCrypto Markets data. Its 24-hour trading volume stood at $56.06 million.
Blur shared the news on X, stating that the closure applies solely to the website frontend while the marketplace contracts remain active onchain.
“The Blur marketplace protocol will remain operational on-chain, and $BLUR will continue to control its fee switch,” the announcement stated.
Blend, Blur's NFT lending protocol, will cease matching new loans as of November 12. Borrowers are required to repay prior to that date or face loan default.
Blast, the Ethereum layer-2 network also created by Tieshun “Pacman” Roquerre, initiated its own wind-down 10 days prior. Users had until October 26 to make withdrawals via its interface.
The shutdown for Blur comes after a sustained drop in its onchain metrics. Its total value locked (TVL) is now $22.63 million according to DefiLlama, compared with a peak of roughly $215.9 million on March 9, 2024.
Blur's fee revenue reached a high of $25.58 million in Q1 2023. By Q1 2025, it had declined to $2.33 million. In Q3 2026, Blur earned only $0.51, with no fees recorded in the last 30 days.
Data indicates that the WETH in Blur's bidding pool decreased from roughly 6,991 to 6,703 between October 12 and 13. Over the same span, Blend's TVL fell from $7.03 million to $5.69 million.
Blend collateral also saw a reduction of about 160 blue-chip NFTs. Azuki declined from 271 to 229, and Pudgy Penguins slid from 289 to 259.
The upcoming milestone is November 12, when Blend halts new loans and the website is taken offline.
