The National Bureau of Statistics published its September purchasing managers' indexes.
The manufacturing gauge came in at 50.1, matching the expected reading and rising from 49.8 in the prior month.
The non-manufacturing index stood at 50.2, ahead of the expected 49.3 and the prior 49.00.
The composite reading registered 50.7, an improvement from 49.5 a month earlier.
