Bitcoin's Bart Simpson Pattern Emerges Following August's 25% Surge
Bitcoin's price retreat after a 25% August rally forms a Bart Simpson pattern; analysts watch $75,800 level while spot demand weakens.
DeFi Development Corp. plans to raise $20 million through preferred stock with a 13% dividend rate to buy more Solana (SOL).
DeFi Development Corp. intends to sell preferred stock to gather as much as $20 million, offering a starting yearly dividend of 13%.
The firm, a treasury company focused on Solana (SOL), plans to allocate a portion of the raised funds toward additional SOL purchases. It restarted buying last week after market conditions improved.
DFDV has disclosed its intention to hold an IPO for its Variable Rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock, known as CHAD Stock.
The dividends will accumulate based on a $10 per share stated value. Payments will occur every business day of each month, with the first payment scheduled for October 1, 2026.
The starting annual dividend rate stands at 13%, adjustable as per the stock's conditions. Additionally, DFDV plans to put $1.30 per share into a dedicated account upon closing.
This reserve is intended to cover a full year of dividend distributions at the 13% rate. DFDV may finance it from its current cash, financial instruments, or digital assets. R.F. Lafferty & Co. serves as the sole book-running manager for the offering.
“The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including for working capital, the acquisition of SOL and other digital asset-related investments, strategic transactions and growth initiatives,” the firm said.
DFDV is already among the biggest public holders of SOL. Last week it acquired 19,000 SOL at an average cost of $98.14 each.
This acquisition brought DFDV's holdings to roughly 2.33 million SOL and SOL equivalents. To partially finance the purchase, the company sold its ZeroStack position, pointing to better market conditions as the reason.
CEO Joseph Onorati characterized DFDV as a leveraged method for investors to get exposure to SOL.
“When SOL performs well, we believe DFDV has the potential to amplify that performance. Month-to-date, DFDV's return has been more than twice that of SOL,” he said.
This purchase follows an upturn in the wider cryptocurrency market. SOL posted a 41.4% gain in August, its first winning month in 2026 after declines each month since January.
Strategy restarted its Bitcoin (BTC) buying after a 10-week pause, and Strive and BitMine kept building their digital asset portfolios.
The offering indicates that treasury companies are once again gauging investor interest following a challenging period. The duration of this favorable window will determine how much additional SOL DFDV can accumulate.
