HTX Ventures released a report on the convergence of CeFi, DeFi, and TradFi into a hybrid institutional digital-asset architecture.
HTX Ventures, which serves as the global investment arm of HTX, has issued a new report entitled The Convergence of CeFi, DeFi, and TradFi in 2026: How Institutional-Grade Hybrid Architecture Is Taking Shape.
The document explores how CeFi, DeFi and TradFi are coming together to create a new institutional framework for digital assets. As custody, collateral, execution, yield and risk management are separated from the conventional one-stop platform model, each component is increasingly taken up by specialist market leaders. TradFi delivers regulated, yield-bearing instruments; centralised platforms and custodians handle institutional access, compliance and execution; and DeFi protocols along with risk managers supply programmable backend infrastructure.
According to the report, this hybrid model could give institutions a more controlled route for testing and adopting digital-asset products. It also points to a wider shift in revenue and market influence toward the entities that oversee asset issuance, custody, distribution, risk management and client relationships.
