On Monday, Machi Big Brother posted that people are all anticipating the Hyperliquid Season 3 airdrop. His solution is a Solana meme coin named Season 3 (S3), which he claims distributes HYPE to its holders.

The account belongs to Jeffrey Huang, a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur. The coin he promoted surged early on Tuesday but subsequently lost roughly 75% of those gains within a few hours.

Machi Big Brother Claims He Is Not the Developer

Huang presented the token as a means to bypass the waiting period. He also adopted the expression “let’s dance” from trader Ansem, who had employed it days prior for another token. Subsequently, he distanced himself from the project.

Season 3 coin $S3 is paying $HYPE sividends or hividends?

This disclaimer is significant because of his history. In March, he experienced approximately $75 million in liquidations on Hyperliquid. A few days back, he withdrew his $1 million offer on Friend.tech.

No Official Announcement for Hyperliquid Season 3 Airdrop

Hyperliquid conducted two point phases, each occurring prior to its Genesis Event. Users refer to these as Season 1 and Season 2. The protocol itself never employed the term “season.”

The precise rules were also never disclosed. Hyperliquid merely stated that its criteria were adjusted periodically, and it never verified that points determined the payouts.

That event distributed 310 million HYPE, representing 31% of the total supply. Neither a subsequent campaign nor any payout has occurred since.

The treasury remains a source of hope. An additional 388.88 million HYPE remains unminted, designated for future emissions and community incentives.

HYPE is currently trading near $84, having approached all-time highs over the past weekend. Buyers of Season 3 are essentially pricing in a distribution without any confirmed timeline.

There is actually a mechanism behind the payout promise. Raydium enables token creators to collect a portion of trading fees when liquidity is added to its main pools. Consequently, fees from the HYPE-quoted launchpad pool are received in HYPE.

S3 follows a template that is already in operation. Anonymous Cat, a Solana token quoted in Zcash, launched on August 30 and currently has a $95 million market capitalization. Zcash itself surpassed $1,000 last week. That token was also promoted by Ansem.

Neither token operates on the blockchain it references. S3 is on Solana, not on HyperEVM.

Liquidity remains shallow. The HYPE pool accounts for roughly three-quarters of all S3 trading volume, approximately $3.6 million in the past 24 hours. It has only $175,000 in depth. Combined liquidity across all pools is around $500,000.

The price difference between pools exceeds 60%. Purchasers are paying a premium for a claim that no identified developer has verified.
