Crypto trader Machi Big Brother withdrew his $1 million offer to buy Friend.tech and pointed to Paradigm as the probable blocker.

He instead called on co-founder Racer to restart the Web3 social platform on Robinhood Chain. The about-face happened nine days after he first made the bid, which had driven FRIEND upwards of 1,500%.

Machi Big Brother's Friend.tech Purchase Falls Through in Nine Days

Jeffrey Huang, known as Machi Big Brother, initiated the bid on Aug. 27. The $1 million offer sought just the project's X account and website.

Friend.tech debuted on Base in 2023, enabling users to trade shares among themselves. Paradigm headed a seed investment in the firm during the same year.

Huang provided no proof, presenting the accusation as mere speculation. He also has a track record: he purchased 11 million FRIEND for around 5,200 ETH, and that stake later lost more than $16 million.

The original developers surrendered control of the smart contracts in September 2024. Consequently, what a buyer would actually acquire remains uncertain.

The FRIEND token is now trading at around $0.0069, about 5% higher over the last day. Its market capitalization stands at roughly $659,000, well below the $4.89 million high reached during the August surge. Still, over a 90-day period, the token has gained 382%.

Robinhood Chain Presented as Alternative for Racer

Huang ended his message by shifting direction. He advised Racer to recreate the app on Robinhood Chain and pledged his support.

I’m guessing my offer is being blocked by Paradigm. I rescind my offer. Racer relaunch Friendtech on Robinhood chain, I will support.

Robinhood Chain launched on July 1 as a layer-2 network built on Arbitrum. Since its debut, it has exceeded Ethereum in decentralized exchange volume and taken in substantial meme-coin activity.

This combination concerns certain analysts. Jon Ma from Artemis cautioned that the meme-coin surge threatens to undermine Robinhood's tokenized-stock plans.

FRIEND retained its daily increase even after the bid was pulled. As of Saturday afternoon, Racer had not made a public statement, and his response will determine if Friend.tech sees a comeback.
