Anthropic Slashes Claude Haiku 5.5 Price 75% Amid IPO Criticism

Musk praised Bezos after he revealed a $28B personal bet on Blue Origin, which raised $10B externally and may pursue an IPO.
Elon Musk offered public praise for Jeff Bezos after the Amazon founder disclosed a personal $28 billion commitment to his space venture Blue Origin. Bezos also suggested the company could eventually pursue an initial public offering.
The gesture is notable because the two businessmen have long vied for government launch deals and satellite broadband customers. Musk's own space firm, SpaceX, became a publicly traded company in June.
Bezos established Blue Origin in 2000. The enterprise manufactures reusable rockets and lunar landers, and it challenges SpaceX for contracts with NASA and the military.
Bezos disclosed the figures during an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier. The conversation took place on the Blue Origin factory floor in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
He stated that the company had recently secured $10 billion from external investors. This represented the first outside fundraising round in Blue Origin's 26-year history.
Baier noted that demand for the offering exceeded the available shares.
Furthermore, Bezos explained his reasoning for delaying external investment.
“I didn’t really want to take outside investors until I was sure that it would be a good investment for them.”

The same conversation touched on a potential Blue Origin IPO.
An account with a conservative bent on X subsequently shared the clip to defend billionaires. Musk responded with brief approval, expressing happiness that Bezos “cares so much about space.”
Bravo! I’m glad @JeffBezos cares so much about space.

Nonetheless, Bezos indicated that a Blue Origin IPO is not imminent. He said the company will “someday” list publicly, but likely “several years from now.”
However, he added that it “probably makes sense” for Blue Origin to become a public company at some point.
Even after the fundraising, Blue Origin lags significantly behind SpaceX. Musk's company achieved a $1.77 trillion valuation when it listed in June.
That disparity matters for investors. Morgan Stanley, for example, suggests SpaceX stock could double from current levels.
SpaceX’s valuation has also set the benchmark for other large public offerings. Anthropic’s IPO filing points to a listing that could value it above $2 trillion.
Meanwhile, the competition extends beyond rockets. Musk recently stated that Delta’s CEO would lose his job for turning down Starlink in favor of Amazon Leo.
In the shorter term, Blue Origin aims to return its New Glenn rocket to flight in December. Eventually, a Blue Origin IPO would give public investors a second major space wager. For now, SpaceX remains the clear dominant player in that arena.
