Peter Brandt's Chart Showdown: XRP, Monero and Solana Compared

Peter Brandt compares XRP, Monero and Solana on weekly charts, ranking XRP lower due to congestion and formation weaknesses.

Experienced trader Peter Brandt recently put XRP, Monero, and Solana side by side on weekly charts. He evaluated each cryptocurrency purely through traditional price patterns and measured move analysis.

The results put XRP behind the other two, and the analysis demonstrates how chart formations can highlight strong setups versus weaker ones.

Excuse the rant I am about to unleash
I believe in a concept called "measured moves"
Targets or objectives are not sacred
Charts often fail to deliver what we first identify and morph into something else
I have identified a C&H in XRP
On a larger time frame this C&H might… pic.twitter.com/o695MCEXHB

Brandt's Chart Comparison and Its View on XRP

Brandt's comparison is a technical review of the three assets based solely on price action using weekly charts. Fundamentals are excluded, with reliance on classic patterns and measured moves. His central message is straightforward: chart formations evolve, price targets are not guaranteed, and relative strength differs significantly between assets.

For XRP, Brandt points to a cup-and-handle pattern. This formation consists of a rounded base followed by a minor pullback, often interpreted by traders as a continuation signal.

On a longer timeframe, this could become the right shoulder of a larger inverted head-and-shoulders pattern. Based on daily closing prices, a measured move from such an inverted head-and-shoulders suggests an upside target around $2.16. He immediately qualifies that projection because the right shoulder appears poorly developed and shortened.

XRP also contends with substantial overhead supply, meaning layers of past trading that create resistance. Brandt describes this congestion as a clear negative from a technical perspective. The price must absorb that supply before any sustained rally can occur. Until that happens, the $2.16 objective remains a conditional target rather than a definitive forecast.

Why Monero and Solana Outrank XRP According to Brandt

Brandt depicts Monero's chart as significantly more promising. XMR has largely worked through its prior overhead supply. He characterizes the path ahead as "clear sailing."

The weekly structure shows progressively higher peaks and a tidier trajectory following earlier consolidations. He calls it his clear favourite among the three. He adds that he does not require any fundamental story attached to XMR.

Solana gets similarly positive treatment. Brandt highlights a cup-and-handle pattern on a larger and more impressive scale than XRP's. SOL's weekly chart displays a broad rounded base beneath a clearly defined horizontal resistance line.

That setup points to a higher-quality continuation once the level is breached. Some congestion remains, but the structure appears cleaner and more definitive.

Brandt also briefly touches on Ethereum and Stellar. ETH carries heavy congestion without the same kind of overhead supply as XRP, while XLM faces less resistance.

Throughout his analysis, he emphasizes a pure price-action approach: he trades charts, not narratives. He urges XRP holders not to take the weaker chart personally, since patterns evolve and measured moves can fall short.
