Porsche has shut down its 911 NFT project PIONΞERS CIRCLE, leaving holders with tokens down 96% from their high.
The automaker has abandoned its PIONΞERS CIRCLE 911 NFT initiative, whose purchasers now hold digital collectibles worth 96% less than at their peak.
Holders of the PIONΞERS CIRCLE NFTs were granted entry to events, awards, and other perks tied to buying one of the Porsche 911-inspired tokens.
Porsche did not give a detailed reason for ending the project, but called it a venue for “experimentation” and a “shared adventure.”
“As this journey draws to a close, Porsche continues to evolve, adapting to new opportunities and shaping the future in its own way,” the firm said in an X post.
Minting one of the Porsche 911 NFTs required 0.911 ETH, valued at about $1,400 at the launch in 2023.
One month after launch, the collection's floor price peaked above 3 ETH, equivalent to $5,100 at the time.
Since that peak, the floor price has dropped more than 96% to 0.077 ETH, around $200. That represents an 85% decline from the original mint price of 0.911 ETH.
Despite the shutdown, Porsche stated that the NFTs “will remain with their respective holders and continue to exist on the blockchain.”
Porsche dropped out of Germany’s DAX stock index last year after a weak profit performance.
Michael Leiters became CEO in January 2026, by which point Porsche was already reducing its “ultra-ambitious” electric vehicle production plans.
This year, Porsche announced plans to eliminate 3,900 positions by 2030 and an additional 5,000 by 2035, according to reports.
Deliveries to China reportedly dropped 32% in the first half of 2026, while total deliveries declined 16.5%.
Porsche nonetheless posted a 34% profit increase, but its XETRA-listed shares have fallen nearly 39% over the past year.
