Porsche Ends Web3 Project: What NFT Owners Should Know

Porsche ends its Web3 project, leaving NFT holders with tokens but no more community perks or events.

Luxury automaker Porsche is shutting down its Web3 initiative, withdrawing support for the Porsche NFT collection and the PIONĪžERS CIRCLE holder community. The decision brings a project that encountered difficulties from the start to a close.

The digital tokens themselves remain unaffected. Those who own PORSCHĪž 911 NFTs keep them, even as the brand steps back from a community it cultivated for nearly four years.

What Comes Next for Porsche NFT Holders?

A farewell message from the project’s official account detailed three changes.

Today, we are announcing the conclusion of the Porsche Web3 project and PIONĪžERS CIRCLE.

What began as an exploration of new ways to connect the Porsche spirit with the digital world evolved into much more than a technology initiative. Over the past years, the PIONĪžERS CIRCLE…

First, each Porsche NFT stays with its current holder and continues to exist on the blockchain.

Second, the PIONĪžERS Discord server becomes a read-only archive. Members can still view years of conversation, but no new discussions will take place there. Finally, the project’s X account will cease posting.

Porsche described the departure as a strategic move. According to the team, the company will continue adapting to new chances on its own schedule.

Why Did Porsche’s Digital 911 Never Reach Full Speed?

Problems emerged early. In January 2023, the Porsche NFT collection launched on Ethereum with 7,500 tokens at a cost of 0.911 ETH each, around $1,400 at that time.

Demand missed that target. Only 1,909 tokens were minted before the automaker halted the sale early.

Porsche kept the project going nonetheless. Over subsequent years, the team organized Discord sessions, events, and racetrack experiences for owners.

No specific reason was given for the closure, which arrives in a year marked by NFT and crypto shutdowns.

Porsche’s NFT wind-down also follows an earlier move by Nike, which closed its RTFKT digital sneaker studio in January 2025 and later sold the NFT studio to an undisclosed buyer.

Gemini shut down the Nifty Gateway NFT marketplace earlier this year, a platform once prominent for curated digital art drops.

Over 20 crypto projects ceased operations in the first quarter of 2026 as funding became scarcer and trading activity slowed.

Porsche’s retreat appears less exceptional and more typical of a broader trend.

For the moment, Porsche NFT holders retain the asset, but the events and benefits tied to it disappear. That void may shape how the next luxury brand engages with Web3, should another attempt it.
