FUNDAMENTAL OVERVIEW

Solana recently posted gains of roughly 10–13% around Friday's rally, making it one of the biggest large-cap movers. The move was triggered by the broader regulatory relief from the SEC's tokenization framework and CFTC rulemaking. The CFTC effectively indicated it plans to proceed with a crypto market framework under its current authority, without waiting for Congressional action. Solana additionally enjoyed its own fundamental tailwinds.

In a notable development, tokenized-equity participation on Solana hit a record 850,000 unique holders. Meanwhile, Solana spot ETFs recorded another week of inflows, extending a 12-week streak.

IDIOSYNCRATIC CATALYSTS

Looking ahead, the key idiosyncratic catalyst is Solana's Alpenglow consensus upgrade, aimed at boosting finality and network performance. According to current calendars, Alpenglow activation is scheduled around September 28. If successful, the upgrade could bolster the case that Solana can handle more demanding financial applications. The phased rollout is one of the largest protocol upgrades in Solana's history.

SYSTEMATIC CATALYSTS

On the macro front, attention turns to tomorrow’s UN General Assembly, where Trump has called a meeting on the sidelines with Gulf leaders to discuss next steps in the Iran war. The Iranian delegation has been permitted to attend, making a meeting between Trump and Iranian President Pezeshkian likely.

A de-escalation would push oil prices down, further reducing inflation and rate hike fears, ultimately boosting risk sentiment and cryptocurrencies.

Economic data will also matter given current market pricing. When positioning and expectations are stretched, even a small data surprise can cause a major reversal. If US data begins to disappoint, expectations for aggressive rate hikes would likely decrease, providing Solana with extra support.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – DAILY TIMEFRAME

Solana bounced from the key support zone near 97.00 and later extended its rally to new highs. A new major trendline is now defining the bullish momentum. In the event of a pullback, buyers are expected to support at the trendline with risk below it, aiming to push toward 149.00. Sellers, meanwhile, will seek a break below to extend the pullback to the 97.00 support.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – 4 HOUR TIMEFRAME

The price broke above the bullish flag's upper bound, and bullish momentum rose as more buyers entered, aiming for new highs. The initial target is near 120.00, the 127.2% Fibonacci extension level. If a pullback occurs before that, buyers are likely to step in around the 108.00 swing low, with risk below, to continue pushing to new highs. Sellers, conversely, will look for a break lower to join in for a drop to the daily trendline.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – 1 HOUR TIMEFRAME

A minor upward trendline defines bullish momentum on the 1-hour timeframe. On a pullback to the trendline, buyers are expected to support with risk below, aiming for new highs, while sellers will target a break to extend the pullback to the 108.00 swing low.

UPCOMING CATALYSTS

Trump is scheduled to meet with Gulf leaders tomorrow, and potentially with Iran's President, at the UN General Assembly. Wednesday brings the Flash US PMIs. Thursday features the Trump-Xi meeting.
