Tom Lee: South Korea's chip stock selloff offers crypto chance but rates must ease
Tom Lee says Korea's chip stock drop signals crypto buying opportunity, but rising rates could challenge his thesis.
Sui's Basecamp event yielded Samsung Wallet USDC support, a Google Cloud AI verification project, and a 40.6 million TPS stress-test record.
October began with SUI riding a powerful rally. Three announcements from the Basecamp event could shape whether buyers have anything sustainable to hold: USDC support through Samsung Wallet, a Google Cloud initiative, and a record throughput figure.
At the Singapore gathering, Sui detailed a vision of AI programs shifting funds on behalf of individuals.
USDC transfers over Sui are being built into Samsung Wallet across 82 million Galaxy devices in the US. Users will be able to move digital dollars without paying network fees or acquiring SUI first.
Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs, said: “Our goal has long been to make money movement free and as easy as sending an email.”
The integration could spur fresh payments volume on the network.

Google Cloud and Mysten Labs are working together on Verifiable Agent Arbiter, a system meant to establish whether AI agents did what they were told.
Records of activity remain confidential, while cryptographic evidence is recorded on Walrus and Sui.
Evan Cheng, CEO of Mysten Labs, said: “AI agents are starting to make decisions with financial and legal consequences, and we need systems to ensure they cannot exceed their authority. This requires evidence any counterparty can verify.”
Kimberly Logan of the Walrus Foundation added: “Verifiable Agent Arbiter enables companies and individuals to prove their agents acted within the bounds of their authority, and they can prove it anywhere to anyone in a fully trustless way. This is going to support agentic workflows across trust boundaries and industries, unlocking the types of experiences that we previously could only talk about in the abstract. And this is one of the biggest companies in the world acknowledging that a credibly neutral layer is the only place where this can happen.”
In a live stress test, Sui said it handled 40.6 million transactions per second, using programmable offchain tunnels that eventually settle on its chain.
That could lower the cost of machine payments. Importantly, the number tracks activity within those tunnels, not 40 million transactions carried out directly on the mainnet.

SUI climbed nearly 50% during September. While these updates improve Sui’s adoption outlook, their effect on demand for SUI is still unclear.
The initiatives could expand Sui’s audience past crypto traders and expose the network to multiple fresh markets.
Samsung Wallet is the most direct route to mainstream adoption. It could pull ordinary consumers and payment processors onto Sui, especially ones moving stablecoins across borders.
Even so, a higher volume of USDC transactions does not by itself translate into stronger demand for SUI.
Google Cloud’s partnership, in turn, is aimed at institutional take-up.
Financial institutions and other businesses building AI agents could rely on Sui and Walrus to verify automated financial decisions and satisfy regulatory obligations. The real impact will hinge on actual enterprise deployments.
For those holding SUI, the news bolsters the network’s long-term growth case. But partnerships by themselves will not sustain a price rally.
The true challenge ahead of 2027 is whether Sui can turn these openings into quantifiable network activity and increased demand for its token.
