BeInCrypto LATAM and Coinhold Wallet AMA to Tackle Stablecoins in Latin America

Binance set an end-of-next-week date for HYPE withdrawals but gave no explanation for the freeze after a $6.3 billion breach.
By the end of next week, Binance expects Hyperliquid (HYPE) withdrawals to reopen. The date arrived on Friday, shortly after HYPE fans publicly demanded to know why the token had once again been left off the exchange’s recovery list.
Until then, any HYPE on Binance remains stuck there. Holders can sell the token on the platform, but moving it to a private wallet or another exchange is not possible.
October 29 marked the start of the freeze. On that day, Binance said a security breach had affected an estimated $6.3 billion in funds.
Withdrawals have been restored one token at a time. In its November 5 update, the exchange said tokens are ranked by user demand over the preceding week, then vetted through security checks one by one.
HYPE is the token of Hyperliquid, a crypto exchange where traders use borrowed money to bet on price moves. Hyperliquid Daily, an X account covering the project, said HYPE clearly met both tests but was still left out.
“If both demand and market relevance are the priorities, why isn’t HYPE on the list yet?” Hyperliquid Daily asked.
All Binance has offered since then is a deadline, and its reply contained no reason.
“We’re working to reopen withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR, LTC by end of next week.”
There is a technical case for the wait. HYPE runs on Hyperliquid’s own blockchain. Binance has said it is checking each network separately, and the networks restored so far include Ethereum and BNB Chain.
Hyperliquid Daily itself conceded that security checks “may involve additional technical considerations.”
Why Is $HYPE Missing From Binance's Withdrawal Restoration List?
Binance says it is prioritizing assets based on user demand over the past week and restoring each network-asset pair after rigorous security checks.
But one notable name is missing: $HYPE.

HYPE has experienced this kind of wait at Binance before. The global exchange only opened spot trading for the token on September 24, and it carried a higher-risk tag.
Rivals had moved months earlier. OKX made HYPE available for spot trading in November 2025, and US platforms Kraken and Coinbase did the same in January and February 2026.
“Seriously, why did Binance take almost 2 years to list HYPE? HYPE launched in November 2024 Binance Futures listed it in May 2025. And now, almost 2 years later HYPE finally gets Binance spot,” a user wrote in September.
Across the US, Hyperliquid’s HYPE had already been listed on Binance.US in June 2025, more than a year earlier.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) offered one possible reason on the When Shift Happens podcast, in an episode published September 25.
CZ said the exchange’s rules required Binance to hold the tokens it listed itself, to keep counterparty risk — the risk of relying on another company’s systems — in check.
He also said he was no longer at Binance’s helm and could not say whether that policy was still in force.
Binance has pledged to make good every user loss from the breach. Still, compensation does not put coins back in holders’ hands any faster.
How Binance measures demand was never explained in the November 5 update. For HYPE holders, the end of next week is now the only clear marker on the calendar.
