Binance Wallet, in partnership with PancakeSwap, has launched Pre-Access campaigns that offer tokenized exposure to private firms ahead of their public listings. The identity of the first project remains undisclosed.

This move continues a year-long push by exchanges into conventional assets. Binance has already introduced stock trading, tokenized equities, and pre-IPO derivatives.

However, a limitation exists, as detailed further on.

Exchanges Push Further Into Traditional Assets

Growing appetite for on-chain representations of equities and private stakes has driven multiple platforms in this direction. Both Robinhood and Kraken provide tokenized stock offerings.

Binance has followed a similar path, initially through derivatives. In May, the exchange introduced perpetual futures that provided exposure to prominent private firms before their IPOs.

The first such contract, SPCXUSDT, was linked to SpaceX. That firm has subsequently listed on Nasdaq.

Binance began offering US equity trading on June 1, with bStocks tokenized securities launching on June 12.

This shift is backed by demand. Tokenized stockholder count hit a record 3.7 million on September 19, an 86% increase over 30 days. Distributed value also set a record of more than $3 billion, per RWA.xyz.

Binance Pre-IPO Tokens Tie Allocations to Alpha Points

The Pre-Access campaigns represent the newest offering. Allocation is determined by three factors. Greater Alpha Points and a higher bStocks on-chain tier enlarge the allocation, and holders of the Trencher Badge get an additional allocation. PancakeSwap establishes the definitive rules, as per Binance's disclosure.

Binance Wallet positioned the launch in terms of accessibility.

"Everyday people have never had access to this kind of early-stage exposure," it said.

The limitation, however, is that holders are not given voting rights, dividends, or any shareholder entitlements. Binance also cautions that these tokens involve significant risk and may be inappropriate for certain users. Valuations of private companies remain uncertain, and returns, liquidity, and settlement are not assured.

According to the post, the first campaign is to be disclosed shortly. The upcoming company's identity will indicate if Pre-Access generates demand comparable to that of the perpetuals.
