Bitget, which ranks among the largest Universal Exchanges, has set out the latest stage of its real-world asset plan. Moving past simply offering direct access to tokenized stocks, it is building an institutional-quality liquidity setup driven by its Super Match engine. This engine connects the exchange's own trades with market makers and other liquidity sources, aiming to deliver better pricing and trading for rTokens even outside standard market hours.
This marks a shift in how Bitget handles tokenized equities. The early rToken phase was about granting digital entry to US stocks and ETFs. Now, the emphasis is on broadening liquidity involvement by letting market makers join the rToken ecosystem directly.
This involves allowing eligible assets to shift between standard brokerage accounts and Bitget's platform, linking various liquidity sources, and building price-discovery mechanisms that do not depend on just one conventional market.
The entry point for this setup is Broker Interoperability. Bitget will launch rToken Transfer on October 13, the debut product in this tier, which will let eligible US stocks and ETFs kept at outside brokers come into the Bitget RWA system.
The service supports more than 3,000 eligible assets and creates a route for existing equity portfolios to join tokenized markets without investors having to sell their holdings first.
“The next phase of tokenization will be defined by the infrastructure that allows assets and liquidity to move across markets,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “Providing access to tokenized equities was a key starting point. Now we’re focused on connecting existing brokerage assets with deeper liquidity and more flexible ways to deploy capital. Broker Interoperability creates a pathway for those assets to enter our ecosystem, while Super Match is designed to improve how liquidity and price discovery function once they’re there. This is central to our Universal Exchange vision of bringing traditional and digital assets together within a unified trading ecosystem, where capital can move move efficiently across asset classes. Our longer-term goal is to make tokenized equities more useful to both institutional and retail participants, including through broader collateral and capital-management applications.”
With rToken Transfer, users start a Free of Payment (FOP) transfer of securities from an outside broker to Bitget's Alpaca omnibus account. After the securities arrive and are processed, the In-Kind Tokenization Network (ITN) turns them into matching rTokens, sent to the user's Bitget spot account. The procedure cuts down on manual conversion work and offers a uniform entry point for qualified traditional assets into the digital environment.
The second tier is Super Match, meant to deal with liquidity and order execution as activity in tokenized equities increases. The setup intends to link Bitget’s own trading flows, market-maker involvement, and internalized trading features with several sources of price discovery.
By uniting these elements, Bitget aims to foster greater liquidity, smoother execution, and a market that can handle trading outside typical equity market hours when available. Actual liquidity, pricing, and trading will depend on market conditions, supported assets, and the relevant product terms.
The two layers together form a longer-term plan for boosting capital efficiency in tokenized equity markets. Once suitable assets are in Bitget as rTokens, they may be used for spot trading and, if available, margin features, loans, earn products, and other applications within the ecosystem.
This opens up the possibility for equity positions to be used for more financial tasks, such as collateral when that function develops, according to asset qualification, regional rules, and terms.
This plan builds upon Bitget's rToken ecosystem via Reality, its platform for RWA issuance. As of July 6, rToken assets under management stood at around US$114 million, and the total number of transactions had exceeded two million. Bringing in Broker Interoperability and working on Super Match are the next steps in linking that increasing tokenized asset pool with wider market liquidity and institutional involvement.
Bitget operates as one of the major Universal Exchanges globally, with more than 125 million users and access to upwards of 2M crypto tokens, 500+ tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, FX, and metals like gold. Its system aims to assist users in trading through an AI agent that co-pilots trade execution.
The exchange is pushing crypto adoption via alliances like MotoGP. In line with its global strategy, Bitget has partnered with UNICEF on blockchain education aimed at 1.1 million individuals by 2027. Bitget holds a leading spot in the tokenized TradFi market, with the industry's lowest fees and greatest liquidity across 150 regions.
