South Korea-based IoTrust rebrands its DCENT digital asset wallet brand eight years after launch, with a new slogan, 'DCENT X' hardware wallet, and enterprise…
On September 8, South Korean digital asset wallet firm IoTrust, under CEO Sangsu Baek, introduced a new brand identity for DCENT. It is the first significant rebranding in the eight years since the brand's launch.
The rebranding includes a change in the English brand name from D’CENT to DCENT, with the apostrophe dropped, while the Korean name stays the same.
Its new slogan, “Own your future. At ease.”, underscores the firm's pledge to maintain user ownership of digital assets while easing storage and management burdens. The updated wordmark and signature shade, “DCENT Lime,” visually convey this approach.
The rebranding extends beyond name and visual updates. Hardware wallets have shifted from being mainly for asset storage to becoming gateways for transaction approval, staking participation, and use of various digital asset services.
Following that evolution, DCENT is growing into a brand offering a full digital asset experience covering storage, backup, management, and utility.
The central term behind the rebrand is “Beyond Storage.” It signifies DCENT's aim to ease the full digital asset journey, from secure storage through backup, recovery, management, and usage.
Launched with the rebrand, the DCENT X is a premium hardware wallet that reflects this direction in its product design.
The DCENT X is a cold wallet enabling users to view signing details on a 2.4-inch AMOLED screen and authorize with one fingerprint. With this touchscreen and fingerprint model, DCENT now provides a wider selection catering to various storage needs and settings, alongside its biometric wallet and the card-style DCENT S.
Both DCENT S and DCENT X use the Recovery Card for backup and recovery. This method eliminates the hassle of manually noting and keeping a recovery phrase, letting users handle recovery data via a separate physical card, thereby boosting storage convenience.
DCENT is also extending its reach from individual users to offer digital asset management settings for firms and institutions.
DCENT Enterprise is an institutional product aimed at aiding businesses and institutions in securely storing and handling digital assets. It includes internal controls like multi-level approvals, allowing organizations with multiple authorized individuals to manage assets per their policies.
By linking personal hardware wallets with organization-level digital asset management under one DCENT brand, the firm signals its business growth direction via this rebrand.
“This rebranding marks the beginning of DCENT’s expansion beyond an asset storage device into a digital asset experience brand that connects backup, recovery, management, and utility,” said a representative of IoTrust. “We will continue to expand our business by broadening the options available to individual users through DCENT X and DCENT S, while supporting the digital asset management environments of businesses and institutions through DCENT Enterprise.”
DCENT now backs over 100 blockchain networks and more than 10,000 tokens, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Solana, and Stellar (XLM).
