FX option expiries on 26 October centre on EUR/USD strikes at 1.1200 and 1.1250, which may keep price action contained.

The 10am New York cut on 26 October brings a couple of notable expiry levels into focus.

The focus is on EUR/USD at 1.1200, where the strike is no more than 20 pips from the spot price. A magnetic pull could be exerted on price action by that level during the session, particularly if trading remains subdued. Alongside that, a second expiry at 1.1250, combined with the 1.1200 strike, could help keep price moves contained between the two levels.

This is especially relevant because technicals show near-term price action caught mostly between the key hourly moving averages around 1.1215-20. Downside has been defended in the 1.1190-00 region since last week, while upside remains limited near the 23.6 Fibonacci retracement level of the August-to-October swing lower, around 1.1254.

Today's expiries are therefore likely to reinforce those levels absent any major headline surprises that could shift broader market sentiment and the dollar.

As ever, the expiries are worth monitoring for possible price attraction or containment, but broader market drivers and technical levels should remain the priority, especially with several major central bank decisions due this week.
