Gate, a prominent global digital asset exchange, has unveiled its August 2026 Transparency Report. The document details how the platform's multi-asset operations sustained robust momentum last month, with areas such as traditional finance (TradFi), derivatives, wealth management, on-chain trading, and institutional services all posting solid gains.

The firm further upgraded its service capabilities in trading, investment, and asset management. As digital assets increasingly integrate with conventional financial markets, Gate continues to evolve its financial services framework, which spans multiple asset classes, varied trading environments, and diverse user requirements.

On the trading side, Gate recorded high engagement across its main metrics during August. DefiLlama data shows that the exchange’s 24-hour combined spot and derivatives volume stood at roughly $9.5 billion, placing it among the global Top 3. Open interest reached $12.48 billion, also securing a Top 3 position worldwide.

The platform logged net capital inflows of $308.1 million over the prior 30 days, ranking second among major exchanges. In specific sectors, CryptoQuant figures indicate that Gate’s equity perpetual futures volume soared 308% month-over-month, marking its third straight month of triple-digit expansion.

CryptoRank data reveals that Gate’s RWA perpetual futures open interest hit $378.8 million, representing 49.6% of the global centralized exchange market and claiming the top spot.

TradFi emerged as a primary growth engine in August. Gate’s spot stock coverage surpassed 12,800 assets, with an official entry into the Japanese market through an initial rollout of approximately 300 stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Cumulative trading volume for equity assets exceeded $2 billion.

During the same period, CFDs expanded to 680 trading pairs, bringing the total TradFi asset count above 1,000, including equity derivatives covering more than 360 underlying instruments.

In asset management, Gate Simple Earn added 23 new projects, achieving cumulative subscriptions of $1.626 billion, with a monthly TVL peak of $1.624 billion. Gate Staking reached a peak TVL of $1.44 billion, up 13.4% month-over-month, while the GUSD pool size hit a new record of $257 million.

Derivatives and emerging trading scenarios continued their rapid expansion. Last month, Gate’s cumulative options trading volume neared 910 million USDT, climbing 36.6% month-over-month, while premium volume surged approximately 189.1%. Event Contract trading volume skyrocketed 286.1% month-over-month, and the number of active traders jumped 473.1%, stretching coverage to 9 digital assets.

Additionally, Gate Swap volume grew 28.4% month-over-month, and Perp DEX API volume advanced 134%, reflecting rising user engagement across unconventional derivatives and on-chain trading scenarios.

In institutional services, Gate reported spot and futures trading volume increases of roughly 21% and 8% month-over-month, respectively. CrossEx asset size expanded 143% month-over-month, hitting an all-time high. The exchange simultaneously rolled out feature upgrades including isolated margin, USDC flash repayment, arbitrage opportunity displays, and API enhancements, continuously optimizing trading, settlement, and capital management for sophisticated traders and institutional clients.

Alongside business growth, Gate continued to bolster asset security and transparency. As of August 19, 2026, total reserves stood at $8.215 billion, with an overall reserve ratio of 127%. Specifically, excess reserve ratios for BTC and ETH were 22.79% and 22.05%, respectively. The combined reserve ratio for USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD reached 111.63%, while GT and XRP reserve ratios were 131.15% and 116.09%.

In brand and community initiatives, Gate deepened ties with users through global offline events, content creation, and outreach. Gate attended Coinfest Asia 2026 and hosted side events as the conference’s Summer Bay sponsor. Through platforms such as Gate Live, the exchange enhanced dialogue with its global user base and industry participants.

Gate Founder and CEO Dr. Han gave an exclusive interview to The Economist, where he shared perspectives on industry developments, risk management, user protection, and regulation, while also highlighting progress in the company’s TradFi, compliance, Proof of Reserves, and AI infrastructure efforts.

Overall, Gate’s multi-asset business continues to broaden across equities, ETFs, RWAs, wealth management, on-chain trading, and institutional services. Third-party organizations have validated its performance across market activity and TradFi metrics. Looking forward, Gate plans to continue refining its product lineup, strengthening asset security and global service capabilities, and fostering synergies across trading, investment, asset management, and intelligent services.
