Librería de Satoshi has rebranded to ISMOS and launched a global platform to train one million Bitcoin developers, with reach in over 40 countries.
The technical education organization formerly known as Librería de Satoshi has announced its rebranding to ISMOS alongside a new website and the launch of a global platform. The group intends to broaden its Bitcoin and open-source developer training worldwide by establishing local hubs and offering programs in native languages.
According to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine, ISMOS has already engaged over 3,665 individuals across more than 40 countries since 2021 and has provided financial backing to 30 open-source developers.
“Talent is universal; opportunity is not. I founded Librería de Satoshi because I experienced the language barrier in Bitcoin firsthand. ISMOS takes that mission worldwide, so that the next great developer can come from anywhere,” said Dulce Villarreal, CEO and founder of ISMOS.
What started as a Bitcoin school for Spanish speakers has evolved into a full technical education ecosystem and a comprehensive training track focused on freedom technologies and open-source development. ISMOS creates a meeting point for educators and technology builders, offering a space to learn and teach with “Freedom Tech values, in more languages, more regions, and more disciplines, with a growing presence in universities, bootcamps, and programming communities.” Born in Latin America as Librería de Satoshi, ISMOS is now a worldwide movement.
One Million Bitcoin Developers Around the World
ISMOS delivers structured study programs, direct mentorship, and fellowships in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, with additional languages planned. Subjects will encompass Bitcoin, cryptography, cybersecurity, mathematics, AI, Nostr, open-source software, and open AI models. The platform itself is open source, and developers can access its open tools at github.com/ismos-xyz.
Currently, ISMOS receives primary funding from Btrust and the Human Rights Foundation. Past support has also come from organizations such as OpenSats and the Gemini Opportunity Fund through smaller grants, the press release states.
The announcement marks nearly five years of expansion and a strengthened dedication to equal opportunity. “Someone coding in Argentina, Nigeria, or El Salvador deserves the same chance to build a first-class technical career as anyone in Silicon Valley or London.”
ISMOS intends to go beyond educational programs by offering individualized assistance to top developers via initiatives like B4OS (Bitcoin 4 Open Source), fellowships, and developer residencies: “in their language, at their level, and with the specific support they need to go further than they imagined.”
