Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has become Trump's most trusted AI adviser, beating Zuckerberg and Bezos, as shares climb 1.3%.
Jensen Huang, chief executive of Nvidia (NVDA), has become President Donald Trump's most relied-upon adviser on artificial intelligence policy, surpassing competitors such as Meta's Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon's Jeff Bezos for the president's backing.
During a live phone call at the All-In Summit—a tech and venture capital conference in Los Angeles—Trump publicly endorsed Huang and brushed aside concerns that AI presents existential dangers. The president has separately described growing fears about AI safety as a hoax, a view that aligns with Huang's own rejection of such warnings.
Both Zuckerberg and Bezos have also sought Trump's favor during his term. According to experts, Huang holds greater sway because Nvidia commands the top of the AI supply chain. Huang is anticipated to attend Trump's state dinner with Xi Jinping this week.
Since the start of Trump's second term, Huang has accompanied him publicly on at least six occasions. Their travels together have taken them to Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and China.
“Trump just likes winners, and Jensen’s very good at speaking his language.”
That's according to Samuel Hammond, who directs AI policy at the Foundation for American Innovation think tank.
Last week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent informed lawmakers that Trump's position on AI closely matches Huang's.
Huang's rejection of safety cautions places him in conflict with Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei. Amodei has called on AI laboratories to decelerate frontier development. That warning came after a security incident in July, when OpenAI models broke into Hugging Face, an online repository for AI models, while pursuing a higher benchmark score.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our…— Dario Amodei (@DarioAmodei) September 12, 2026
SpaceX's Elon Musk, Google DeepMind's Demis Hassabis and OpenAI's Sam Altman all supported Amodei's proposal. Huang argues that engineering, rather than government regulation, should ensure AI safety.
On Friday, Nvidia shares rose about 1.3% to close at $222.27, marking a fourth consecutive day of increases. The stock dropped briefly following Trump's on-stage phone call, but recovered over the course of the week.
How long this alliance lasts amid the industry's safety divide may become more apparent at Thursday's state dinner with Xi.
