Pardoned BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo gives Reform UK another £4M

Pardoned BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo has given the UK's right-wing Reform Party a further £4 million ($5.4 million).

Delo had previously given £4 million in 2025 and backed social media efforts for several right-wing parties through a Westminster political hub.

In 2025, Trump granted a pardon to Delo, who had been found guilty of not enforcing anti-money laundering controls at BitMEX, his cryptocurrency exchange.

Reform UK embroiled in foreign donation scandal

This week, undercover reporters revealed that senior Reform UK figures were arranging illegal foreign donations, adding to the party's donation controversies.

Party leader Nigel Farage and other officials were caught on camera celebrating after a journalist impersonating the child of a wealthy US donor proposed funding several key polls that Reform had secretly commissioned.

Several British political parties have reported Reform to the police over the revelations. Two senior party figures, Dan Jukes and James Orr, have resigned while Reform conducts an internal investigation.

Farage described the remarks made by his former officials as “loose pub talk.”

A £5 million ($6.7 million) personal “gift” from Tether billionaire Christopher Harborne to Farage remains under scrutiny. The payments were temporarily halted when Farage stepped down as MP, but resumed after he was re-elected last month.
