Solana wipes out Friday gains as US-Iran tensions mount; talks in focus

Solana loses Friday gains as Iran deal optimism fades; markets await US-Iran talks and Fed.

FUNDAMENTAL OVERVIEW

Alpenglow, Solana’s major consensus upgrade, reached the second public test network on September 26. By replacing the existing TowerBFT architecture with the Votor consensus mechanism, the upgrade aims to cut transaction finality from roughly 12.8 seconds to about 150 milliseconds. The phased rollout is one of the largest protocol upgrades in Solana’s history.

Heading into the weekend, hopes for a US-Iran deal resurfaced after Iran submitted a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days under certain conditions. That shift in sentiment boosted Solana to new highs. However, Trump rejected the proposal on Saturday and told reporters he expected to resume bombing Iran after the midterms, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The negative development weighed on the crypto market, with Solana erasing Friday’s gains.

Attention will remain on the Middle East and the Fed. A breakthrough would be positive for Solana as aggressive rate hike expectations would likely ease. Conversely, a prolonged stalemate or re-escalation would keep weighing on the cryptocurrency. Mediators are expected to hold separate talks with the US and Iran on Monday or Tuesday, with Iran’s Araghchi and Qatari mediators staying in the US. Those talks will focus on an amended version of the seven-day proposal. Markets will continue to monitor developments closely.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – DAILY TIMEFRAME

Solana extended gains on Friday on improved risk sentiment but subsequently surrendered those gains as early optimism waned. A major trendline defines the bullish structure. If a pullback occurs, buyers are expected to lean on the trendline with a defined risk below it to push toward the 149.00 level. Sellers will look for a break lower to extend the pullback to the 97.00 support.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – 4 HOUR TIMEFRAME

A minor trendline defines the recent price action. Buyers will likely lean on the trendline with a defined risk below it to push into new highs, while sellers will look for a break to pile in for a drop toward the major trendline near the 107.00 level.

SOLANA TECHNICAL ANALYSIS – 1 HOUR TIMEFRAME

A minor downward trendline defines the recent pullback. If the price rebounds from the upward trendline, sellers are expected to lean on the downward trendline with a defined risk above it to position for a break below the upward trendline. Buyers will want to see the price break higher to increase bullish bets into new highs.
