Castle is opening its automated bitcoin financial platform to individuals, allowing dividend income to be taken in cash, bitcoin, or a mix.
Strategy has again paused bitcoin purchases after a brief restart, buying back $176 million of its own stock instead.
Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy has paused its accumulation of the cryptocurrency once more.
The Nasdaq-listed company stopped buying BTC again only a week after it had restarted purchases following a 10-week break.
Rather than acquiring more bitcoin, the company continued its share buyback program, spending $176 million on STRC shares and doubling its digital credit securities repurchase program from $1 billion to $2 billion. This information comes from a Tuesday regulatory filing and a statement by founder and chairman Michael Saylor.
Strategy has repurchased $176M of $STRC and increased the size of its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program from $1.0B to $2.0B. As of 9/7/26, we hold 845,050 $BTC and $6.5B of USD Assets. $MSTR https://t.co/mxqv9QCRat

The company continues to own 845,050 bitcoins, valued at over $66 billion at current prices, along with $6.5 billion in dollar reserves. According to Tuesday's filing, those bitcoins were acquired at an average cost of $63.73 billion.
Strategy shares (NASDAQ: MSTR) were down more than 3% in Tuesday morning trading in New York.
The firm halted its bitcoin acquisitions in June, shifting focus to building a cash reserve, buying back its own stock, and occasionally selling some of its bitcoin holdings.
Strategy has justified those sales. CEO Phong Le stated that the move gave the company a bullet-proof balance sheet and that selling was the right trade at the time.
In its July quarterly earnings, Strategy posted an $8.22 billion loss. Le told investors the firm's current paper loss was not a cause for concern.
We're the J.P. Morgan of the crypto economy, so whether we sell 1,000 Bitcoin out of 840,000 to me is irrelevant to the conversation, Le said.
Strategy, which previously operated as MicroStrategy, is an enterprise software company that started buying and holding bitcoin in 2020.
Its initial cryptocurrency purchase was intended to protect shareholders from inflation. Since then, the company has aggressively acquired the asset and transformed itself into a bitcoin treasury.
Investors can purchase its shares for greater exposure to the cryptocurrency or earn a yield through its digital credit offerings.
