VanEck Labels Metaplanet 'Bad' on Executive Compensation Tests
Metaplanet failed all four VanEck tests on executive compensation, earning a 'Bad' grade and becoming the only top-10 digital asset treasury to do so.
XRP rose 7% to $1.39 after CLARITY Act failure and Fed rate hike; key level at $1.41.
XRP recovered from a regulatory blow this week, rising over 7% in a day to around $1.39 after dipping to about $1.27.
The bounce came after a turbulent two days that included a Senate vote failure and the Fed's first rate increase since 2023.
Cloture is a Senate mechanism that requires 60 votes to end debate and advance legislation. On September 15, the CLARITY Act failed by a 50-49 vote, not reaching that threshold and blocking a planned federal digital asset framework.
XRP fell over 8% right after, hitting lows around $1.27-$1.28. Additional pressure came the next day when the Fed increased its benchmark rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00%, a step that usually puts downward pressure on risk assets.
But the selling pressure was short-lived. XRP has recovered to $1.39, a 7.23% gain in 24 hours, though it edged down 0.30% in the last hour. Volume stayed around $3.9 billion, near its 30-day mean, indicating real buying interest rather than low-liquidity moves.
CryptoQuant data showed whale inflows to Binance hit six-month peaks, and futures open interest recovered to above levels before the failed vote, both indicating a return of big players.
The wider market followed suit. Bitcoin rose 5.49% to about $80,752, Ethereum added 5.53% to around $2,595, and Solana jumped 10.75% to $112.34. The altcoin market cap reached $222 billion, an eight-month high.

Certain analysts see a potential inverse head-and-shoulders pattern on the daily chart, with a neckline near $1.55 that, if validated, could lead to $2.
The relative strength index is around 54, near neutral, allowing more gains without signaling overbought. XRP remains 62% below its record high and is still in a long-standing consolidation range.
XRP TARGETS $2

On the daily chart, $XRP appears to be forming the right shoulder of an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern.
If the setup continues to develop, I'm watching for a move toward the neckline near $1.55.
That's the key level.
A confirmed breakout above $1.55 could…
Whether XRP can regularly close above $1.41 with strong volume will probably decide if this rebound turns into a lasting trend change or just another range-bound bounce.
At present, the market has absorbed the CLARITY Act defeat and the Fed rate move without any persistent harm.
