Innodata shares plunge 25% after laying off 550 workers, losing client
Innodata shares plunged more than 25% after the AI data labeling firm laid off 550 workers and lost a key contract, wiping out $500 million in market value.
Bloomberg and trading firms pay up to $100,000 monthly for early access to Trump's Truth Social posts, sparking ethics concerns and a lawsuit.
According to sources, Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading have purchased a subscription to Truth Social's feed of Donald Trump's posts. The feed can cost as much as $100,000 monthly, and critics describe the deal as unethical.
Both Susquehanna and Jump operate high-frequency trading, using automated, algorithm-based approaches. Getting posts that could move markets a few seconds earlier provides an advantage that ordinary investors do not have.
Truth Social's owner, Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT), first unveiled the feed, known as Truth API, in July. An API (application programming interface) connects one software system with another.
The purchases were reported by Reuters; they had not been disclosed publicly earlier. Representatives for Bloomberg, Susquehanna and Jump declined to comment.
“Truth Social offers an industry-standard API product for which there is significant demand across industries.”
Trump Media issued that statement to Reuters.
Trump Media $DJT has reportedly signed Bloomberg, Susquehanna and Jump Trading for faster access to President Trump’s Truth Social posts.

A family trust controls 41% of Trump Media, with Trump as the sole beneficiary. According to SEC filings, Donald Trump Jr. serves as trustee, possessing sole voting and investment authority.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle stated that Trump and his family are not directly involved in portfolio investment decisions. Ingle did not respond to the claim that Trump is misusing his office.
In August, press organizations Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation filed the Truth API lawsuit against Trump. The plaintiffs seek to prevent the White House from using Truth Social as its only announcement platform while the feed is active.
The lawsuit argues that charging for access to government information may be unconstitutional and gives Wall Street an unfair advantage.
In August, Trump Media stated that more than 10 customers, primarily high-frequency trading firms, had subscribed to the service.
According to Reuters, Trump Media shares have fallen by over 50% this year. The company's valuation is near $1.8 billion, compared with around $8 billion when it debuted in March 2024.
Reuters considers these to be probably the first sales of a sitting president's statements by a company connected to him. The legal basis is untested, and the ongoing lawsuit is a direct test of this arrangement.
The case's result may determine whether faster access to presidential communications remains something Wall Street can purchase.
