Sam Altman Says āLetās Tryā on Superconductor Dare

Jim Cramer named Nvidia and Broadcom as OpenAI's ChatGPT-6 Astra winners; Nvidia fell while Broadcom rose.
CNBC commentator Jim Cramer singled out Nvidia and Broadcom as the biggest beneficiaries of OpenAI's ChatGPT-6 Astra launch. He made the call during Tuesday's Morning Meeting program.
The market reaction was split. Nvidia (NVDA) slipped nearly 2% to $225.80 on Tuesday, while Broadcom (AVGO) gained almost 3% to $368.17.
OpenAI began rolling out Astra last week, calling it the company's most advanced model yet. Attention on ChatGPT-6 Astra's features has focused on cybersecurity, coding, and computer-use tasks.
According to CEO Jensen Huang, Astra was trained on roughly 100,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell systems. He added that another 400,000 chips are coming online for OpenAI.
Cramer viewed the second number as a sign of ongoing demand rather than a one-time purchase.
āThe stock that I think you should be buying is Nvidia,ā he said.
BeInCrypto previously noted that Huang's AGI announcement also served as a marketing pitch for his hardware. Cramer has now used those same figures to support a buy recommendation.
Broadcom collaborated with OpenAI to build a custom chip called JalapeƱo, unveiled in June 2026 and designed for inference. Inference refers to running a completed model for users, as opposed to training it.
Weāve designed and built our first AI chip: JalapeƱo.
ā OpenAI (@OpenAI) June 24, 2026
Designed from the ground up by OpenAI and brought to production with @Broadcom, JalapeƱo is purpose-built for the LLM workloads powering ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and future agentic products.
Initial deployment is targeted for late 2026, with Celestica assembling the systems.
Cramer argued that strong adoption of Astra would protect OpenAI's position and, in turn, Broadcom's custom chip orders. He tied further upside to OpenAI and Anthropic going public, with Broadcom as the preferred partner.
āIf they accomplish that, Broadcom is their preferred partner, and weāre going to see a stock that goes up much more,ā Cramer said.
All 29 analysts covering Nvidia rate it a buy. Their average 12-month target of $325.23 implies 44% upside.
Broadcom draws 26 buys and three holds. The average target of $521.41 points to 42% upside.
The divergence lies at the bottom of each range. Nvidia's lowest target of $275 remains above Tuesday's close of $225.69. However, Broadcom's $350 floor sits below its current price of $369.00.
BeInCrypto counted 25 buys and three holds before Broadcom's third-quarter earnings last week, indicating little change.
Cramer's charitable trust holds positions in Nvidia and Broadcom, as well as Intel and Micron.
The coming weeks will show whether Astra demand feeds into Broadcom's order book or stays within Nvidia's training clusters.
