Dollar Declines, Stock Futures Divergent, Yields Ease
The dollar is lower against all major currencies, U.S. stock futures are mixed with Dow up and Nasdaq down, and Treasury yields decline. Earnings season kicks…
EURUSD fell to 1.1155, the lowest since May 2025, after failing to clear the 100-hour moving average. Next levels: 1.11296, 1.1060.
EURUSD has moved beneath last week's 1.11603 low, touching 1.1155 today — the weakest level since May 2025. The exchange rate is now hovering around 1.1159.
Earlier today, the advance stalled at 1.1217, just below the 100-hour moving average, which was declining at the time. Buyers could not get above that resistance area, and the failed attempt was followed by a move to fresh lows. With the new low now confirmed, the sellers remain in command.
Where does the pair go from here on the downside?
The next objective to watch is 1.11296, the 50% midpoint of the run-up from the January 2025 low to the January 2026 high. A mid-May swing low sits close to that price as well, which makes the zone particularly notable.
For novice traders, this convergence is worth noting: two technical markers line up on the same region, where buyers may try to hold support and set their risk accordingly.
If the price clears that zone to the downside and holds beneath it, 1.1060 — the May 2025 low — would come into view, with few support levels in between.
What could provide buyers with some encouragement?
A first sign of strength would be a return above the declining 100-hour moving average, which is currently near 1.12056. That would reduce the immediate bearish pressure, though buyers would also need to climb above the declining 200-hour moving average, now around 1.12308, and remain there.
The pair has not been above the longer-term moving average since September 10, when EURUSD traded near 1.1610. That underlines just how persistent the selling pressure has been.
The technical setup still reads bearish for now. As long as the price holds under the 100-hour moving average, the downside stays in charge. Regaining that level would mark the first step toward a recovery, but the 200-hour moving average would remain the next obstacle.
